Studio Uno Records is without doubt the most ‘in demand’ commercial music production facility in Chennai. In the brief 9 months that it has existed, it has hosted sessions for Anirudh, DSP, Oscar winning Keeravani, Santosh Narayanan, Yuvan Shankar Raja, Thaman, Imman, Justin Prabhakaran, Yogi B and countless others. It features a Recording Hall with continuously variable acoustics and the capability of accommodating up to 45 musicians at a time. 16 channels of classic remote controlled Neve preamps right in the hall (many more in the Control Room), robust and hassle free headphone distribution system courtesy of Redco Little Red Cue Boxes, the premium Starbird Decca Tree Microphone Stand, over 50 microphones of all characters and utilities, outboard gear to drool over… and support systems like parking, security, in-house chef, lounges, engineers and assistants… no expense has been spared, these rooms were built to a quality and not a price point, and the results are self evident. There are several rooms in the facility and two more are being built by my team, as I type this. Apologies, I cannot be modest about this, it is pretty much the best in the city even if I say so myself, and any musician who has worked in it will attest to the same.
